Volunteers
Welcome Volunteers!
The Squamish Volunteer Centre aims to connect local non
profit community groups with volunteers who are eager to contribute.
With the
tremendous help and contribution from one of our own Volunteers, Johnpaul Burbank, the
Hotspot is able to provide a service on this website through which volunteers
and organizations are able to find each other by registering, posting and
viewing current opportunities.
Services for Volunteers
Members of the community who would like to volunteer are encouraged to Register as a Volunteer with the Squamish Volunteer Centre.
When a volunteer registers, they provide information about
themselves such as their skills and education, their hobbies and the types of
volunteer activities they would like to do so that their preferences can be
matched up with current volunteer opportunities as well as future ones as they
open up.
Once a profile has been created by registering, a volunteer
can log in and browse current volunteer opportunities and contact organizations, as well as update their preferences in their ‘volunteer profile’.
When funding permits, the Volunteer Centre staff review the volunteer profiles and call or email to personally recommend opportunities that match their volunteering preferences.
Services for Non Profits
Members of Non Profit Groups who are looking for volunteers are encouraged to visit the NON PROFITS section of this website. There, they are able to post detailed volunteer opportunities, and access many more volunteer related resources, links and tips.
