When you complete a 'Post Volunteer Opportunity' Form, SVC does the following:

1. Posts the information on the Volunteer Opportunities Section of the SVC Website.
2. Posts the information on the Volunteer bulletin board at the Hotspot.
3. Sends an email with the information to all of Squamish's registered volunteers.
4. Points out the posting to enquiring volunteers and follows through to provide more information when requested.
5. When possible, features the opportunity in one of The Hotspot's weekly ads in The Chief newspaper.
6. When personnel/funding/volunteers available, sends the information weekly to all of Squamish's free community information listing venues.
7. When personnel/funding/volunteers available, looks through the database of registered volunteers to find and refer volunteers whose description matches the requirements of the request.

Very IMPORTANT information for Organizations

SVC does not screen any of its registered volunteers.  As a result, any person with any background can register as a volunteer and be referred to an organization.  It is up to each organization, for its own safety and liability, to carry out ALL aspects of screening and interviewing of volunteers.
