Networking, Supporting, and Strengthening Community Based Organizations in the Sea to Sky Corridor

The Corridor Volunteer Project Research Report:


Since August 2009 the Corridor Volunteer Project team has been working on needs assessment research in regards to community based organizations in the Sea to Sky Corridor.  The research report outlines the findings and recommendations from the needs assessment research.  To share this information with the region and discuss next steps, we will be hosting community forums in:

  • Pemberton, Monday March 8th, 2010
  • Whistler, Tuesday March 9th 2010
  • Squamish, Wednesday March 10th 2010
Location and times for these forums will be available soon.  We invite you to read the report and encourage you to share this with your network.


Project Vision:


To connect and support community based organizations, develop tools to promote meaningful volunteer engagement, and contribute toward long-term community well-being throughout the sea to sky corridor


The Corridor Volunteer Project aims to:

  • Understand the needs of your organization
  • Develop tools and resources to meet common organizational needs
  • Develop a network of community based organizations in the sea to sky corridor so we can work together and support each other
  • Help organizations find, train, and retain volunteers
  • Enhance the leadership and community capacity in the sea to sky corridor


Your input will help shape the outcomes of the Corridor Volunteer Project. Does your organization need help:

  • Connecting with other organizations

Project Background:


The Hot Spot, Squamish’s Community Resource Centre has been working to support community based organizations in Squamish since 2004. Thanks to funding from the BC Healthy Living Alliance’s Community Capacity building Strategy, the Hot Spot hopes to extend their support network though the Corridor Volunteer Project, to serve Britannia Beach, Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton, Mt. Currie, D’arcy, Douglas, Skatin, Samahquam.
