VOLUNTEERING

Volunteer Recruitment & Referral

One of the Squamish Volunteer Centre @ The Hotspot's goals is to connect local community groups and non profits with volunteers who are eager to contribute. With the tremendous help and support of one of our own Volunteers, the Hotspot is able to provide a service on this website through which volunteers and organizations are able to find each other by registering, posting and viewing current opportunities and profiles. In addition, as funding allows, the Volunteer Centre staff personally refer registered volunteers to postings that match their volunteering preferences.

See the VOLUNTEERS section of our website for information about Volunteering in Squamish and Registering as a Volunteer.

Squamish Community Youth Program

Through the Squamish Volunteer Centre, the Squamish Community Youth Program works with community partners to create opportunities for local youth to become involved in and connected to the community. The Goals of the program are:

  • To increase youths connection, as well as their sense of belonging and value within the community.
  • To foster a value of service to the community.
  • To create a process by which local community work can be carried out through the creation of volunteer and paid work opportunities for youth.
See the YOUTH section of our website for more information about this program, benefits of youth volunteering, local opportunities for youth and more.
