The Hotspot's mission is:

• To be a learning space where access to technology, information and volunteering supports personal and community development.
• To provide assistance to both individual citizens & non-profit groups and organizations.
• To meet needs that are common to all local non-profit organizations: for volunteers, information sharing, access to technology, training & space in the community.
• To provide services and programs that build the capacity of the community, citizens & community groups to sustain themselves and meet their own needs.
• To assist individuals to access information, opportunities, skills, training & support so they can participate more fully in community life and in the structures that govern them.
• To connect groups and individuals through information sharing and the use of information technology.
• To support and facilitate Community Development projects that:

• Encourage grass roots civic involvement and engagement
• Build individual & community capacity
• Facilitate community cohesion & partnerships
